About Devon Duvets
Devon Duvets is an award-winning, family-run business, founded by husband and wife team Dick and Pauline Beijen, and which has been handcrafting wool-filled bedding products for over 12 years. Committed to developing and making products that help people to sleep better, these products are natural, sustainable and chemical-free.
These are true British-made products, with each one being individually handcrafted by expert seamstresses in the Devon Duvets workshops on the edge of Dartmoor, and using high-quality, responsibly sourced materials. In support of British farmers, only traceable 100% British wool, certified by the British Wool organisation, is ever used for the fillings and ethically sourced 100% cotton is used for the casings.
Wool has many features that can help achieve a better night's sleep. It's breathable and temperature regulating, which helps to keep your core body temperature balanced whilst you sleep. It's also naturally resistant to dust mites and the build-up of micro bacteria, making it hypoallergenic and more hygienic than many other fillings.
The Devon Duvets' commitment to sustainability extends from the materials sourced and used to make the products, through to the Zero Waste policy. Wool and cotton trimmings are collected and used by other businesses for making their products and any scrap wool is used for composting. As the products are made in Devon, they have a low carbon footprint and the premises in which the workshops, warehousing and offices are based, have special systems installed to keep energy output and costs to a minimum.
